Angela Whelan

Angela Whelan
Past President

Angela is Headteacher at St Paul's Girl's School, Edgbaston, Birmingham. She served as President of CATSC from 2007-2009

Angela provided the following personal profile:
"I started my teaching career in Bishop Ullathorne school in Coventry, where I was introduced to the CTF. In 1990 I became the President of the Coventry Catholic Teachers Association.

I later taught at Cardinal Griffin, Cannock, and St Cuthbert’s, Rochdale, where I introduced CTF/CATSC to my colleagues, and they were encouraged to attend our annual Conference.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to meet many teachers, committed to Catholic Education. CATSC has provided me with a source of comparative resources. It has given me a time of prayer, and a time to reflect spiritually and intellectually, and it has helped to challenge who I am."

Dawn Casserly

Dawn Casserly
General Secretary

Dawn is currently Deputy head at St Paul’s Girls School in Edgbaston, Birmingham. She became involved in CATSC through her Headteacher, and is grateful to Angela for that support, and for introducing her to a vibrant and supportive organisation. Dawn’s interests enable her to discuss education and all related topics, and she is an enthusiastic devotee of  the Six Nations competition, as well as following the round ball at Aston Villa!

John Lydon

John Lydon
Treasurer

John is Assistant Headteacher at the Salesian school in Chertsey, Surrey. He first became involved with CATSC when undertaking research, for which the R&D group provided some financial support. His topic was to study the Charism of the Salesian Order, which has brought him a wealth of knowledge of the Salesians of Don Bosco. As well as his role of Treasurer, John lectures on the MA in Catholic School Leadership course at St Mary’s University College, Strawberry Hill. He is a keen Catenian, and President of his Circle in 2008-9 and is a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre.
