Helpline

0845 601 3210

The Helpline was set up in response to the real needs of members pertaining to their positions as headteachers and teachers in Catholic schools. In November 1999 CATSC ran a seminar attended by colleagues who had experienced problems within our Catholic schools that related to the distinctive nature of the schools. The Executive and Officers wishing to respond to this expressed need set up the Helpline in the Autumn term 2000 with a remit to listen, support and suggest possible courses of action.

While the place of the Teacher Associations is quite properly recognised as being the most obvious port of call in most such situations, there are clearly cases where the colleague concerned feels the need for assistance or support in putting the problem into a Catholic perspective. This has already happened in a number of cases.

All calls will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Experience demonstrates that seeking help sooner rather than later is the best piece of advice that we can offer.
